Collection: Ploegsma

In 1905, Johannes Ploegsma founded his publishing house in Zwolle, driven by a desire to make the world a little wiser. With books on history, nature, and education, he aimed to inform and inspire people.

In 1938, the publishing house was sold to Lankamp and Brinkman, two gentlemen who owned a bookstore in Amsterdam. Brinkman, in particular, had a deep passion for children's books. So much so that he and his colleagues initiated the very first Children's Book Week. And we still celebrate it every year!
